Ron Fleming (@yyesron) is co-founder and Partner of YYES. Ron is a member of AIGA, the professional association for design, and of the Los Angeles Conservancy, an advocacy group charged with recognizing, preserving and revitalizing the historic architectural and cultural resources of Los Angeles County.

A California native, his passion for design developed as a youth where he was often more engrossed in the packaging than the product inside. After moving south to study design in San Diego, Ron joined Tyler Blik Design, giving him the opportunity to work with civic and academic institutions such as the Salk Institute and the San Diego Museum of Art. He later moved to Los Angeles to serve as Co-Creative Director at Maddocks & Company, where he worked with YYES co-founder, Brent Stickels.

Ron currently lives in Los Feliz with wife Sheharazad, and their ever-growing collection of mid century modern furniture, ceramics, vinyl records, and classic cars.

Brent Stickels (@yyesbrent) is co-founder and Partner of YYES. He serves on the board of directors of the Minnesota chapter of AIGA, the professional association for design. The fourth-largest chapter in the nation with over 1300 members, he oversees communications strategy for the chapter’s events such as Design Show, the largest design competition in the upper midwest; Design Camp®, a 30-year-old design conference; and the Insights Lecture Series, in conjunction with the Walker Art Center. Brent also co-directs See Change, an annual conference at the University of Minnesota School of Journalism and Mass Communication that features international design and communication leaders.

He is a member of the Long Now Foundation, an organization founded to foster long-term thinking and responsibility in the framework of the next 10,000 years.

Born in San Diego, Brent studied writing and film theory before establishing his first design business in 1990. He currently lives in southwest Minneapolis with his wife Jane, their 1960s tandem bicycle, and their canoe. He routinely commutes to Los Angeles, especially in the winter.
