Using the Google Earth API to Solve a Design Challenge

Unlike real estate firms that deal in properties, MLC doesn't have architectural photos of a portfolio—the firm deals in raw, undeveloped land in Minnesota and Virginia. To solve this, and to present an interesting portfolio of the firm's holdings, we used the Google Earth API along with a customized icon set and meticulous typography to give the site graphic presence.
Because many users would be in the field looking up asset data, the site works equally well on smartphones and tablets as on desktop computers.
